Recently, Santonio Holmes has been swept up in storm of negative press. It seems like he can’t escape what happened in Pittsburgh, the reasons for the 2010 “trade” to the Jets, and new focus on where he’s headed as a free agent in 2011. Instead, my discussion with Santonio focused on what he’s doing to give back to the community and, ofcourse, football. There’s a lot on his website detailing what he’s doing to be involved in the community. It’s time to find a little more about Santonio as person and refocus on football.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — As he ran off of the field Sunday afternoon, Santonio Holmes spread his arms wide, as if flying. CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Santonio Holmes has stood out, in a very good way, among the Jets receiving corps since he joined his teammates at camp last week. But the offseason addition had high praise for one of his fellow receivers, Braylon Edwards. "When I first got here, knowing my position as a No. 3 receiver, I told Rex (Ryan) that I think he can be a No. 1 receiver in the NFL every year," Holmes said.
